SATYA JYOTI-an organic farm Now open for farm-stays

An ideal place to experience true farm life...for writers who are looking for solitude or for day or weekend visitors who wish to get away from the city.

Satya Jyoti is a fully functioning organic farm spread over 26acres in the Mewat area of Rajasthan, situated in a valley amongst the Aravalli hills. It is just 70 km from Gurgaon by road.

Pick your own vegetables from the garden to cook or buy some to take back home. What you see here are winter vegetables...in summer, its a different lot altogether.

We offer free range eggs and organic milk and milk products as and when available.

All meals are provided in-house by Poonam who lives on the farm with her family.

Meals are served under the canopy of trees...outside the kitchen (if it is not raining!)

All meals essentially consist of everything that is grown & produced on the farm, starting with our own wheat, mustard oil, vegetables...

You could also buy some of the cereals, grains and lentils...Or whatever is available and take it back home.

The rooms we offer are simple and charming. Each room has an attached bathroom. We offer clean linen & towels. Please bring your own toiletries. There is no air-conditioning but we do provide desert coolers for very warm months.
Walk up a pathway sprinkled with butterflies...to the orange room.
The ORANGE room has two single beds...
It also has an inverter and a desert cooler for warm nights.

The INDIGO ROOM is an individual cottage with two large rooms on two floors. Ideal for a family.

There is one double bed and one single bed in this room...we can add more beds if required.

It also has a quiet meditation/reading room.

The bathroom is simple with bucket bath (hot water with immersion rod)...and a bright red floor!

The YELLOW room has a double bed...and a lovely terrace to sit out.
You walk around the old school room to go up a flight of stairs...
...to your private terrace with a green natural screen all around.
The yellow room has a double bed but we can put extra camp cots out on the terrace for a bit of adventure...

This room does not have an inverter hence if there is a power cut, you just pull the beds out and sprinkle water on it for a cool experience.

The INDU HOUSE

The INDU HOUSE, named after Jyoti's Mother, is the original family cottage.

Has its own attached bathroom (solar hot water/bucket bath), one double bed and, single bed & one sofa-cum-bed.

This is the only room with an AC and is adjoining the main kitchen.

Things to do...

So what does one do at the farm? There is NO television........ No internet. The idea is to get away from it all and live amongst nature, close to earth.
Take a walk around the farm....
Enjoy the natural landscape, collect seeds and saplings.
We will give you a map of the farm...create your own walking track.
Find a quiet place to sit and read...or sketch.
Some parts of the farm are like a forest.
Pick fruits....
Participate in farming activities...

If it gets too hot, take a splash in our Fish pond.

The Fish pond is like a natural pond. It is NOT a swimming pool.
It has fish and water plants...and water without chlorine. The same water is used for irrigation.
We find it safe to swim but anyone who goes in will do it at their own risk. We will not take any responsibility for any eventuality. Children should ALWAYS be accompanied by adults who can swim. The depth is 10 feet at the deepest end.

Flow forms are used to energise the water that flows in...

...and out
Or you could just quietly sit and read....or write.

The farm is a BIRDS' paradise and if you like BIRD WATCHING, this is your place to be.

Some of these photographs are taken by Mimi, a friend and a regular visitor to the farm.
Or watch a wild peacock dancing in the fields....we have more than 30 of them on the farm.
If flowers are more your thing, then walk around taking photopgraphs of some wild and exotic varieties.

How to get there....

Here is a map of how to get there from Gurgaon....

We will send you a detailed road map once you decide to drive there.
