@BoilerBall 82, Michigan State 81 (OT) Purdue wins a thriller in a Mackey Arena classic
Rapheal Davis tied a career high with 24 points and added seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
He became the first Purdue player this year to hit six 3-pointers and the first since Kendall Stephens had six against Penn State on Jan. 17, 2015.
He scored 19 of his points and made all five of his 3-point attempts in the first half.
Davis is now shooting 40.6 percent (28-of-69) from 3-point range overall and 38.1 percent (16-of-42) from deep during Big Ten play.
“Give Davis credit. That’s what tough guys do, though. They make plays. I’ve loved that kid all of his career here because he’s a tough kid.” -- Michigan St. coach Tom Izzo
Davis now needs just 43 points for 1,000 career points and 19 rebounds for 500 in his career. Doing so would make him the 8th player in school history with 1,000 points, 500 points and 200 assists.

"Playing Michigan State is like playing IU to me. It’s a little bit more than playing IU to me. They’re a good team. Coach Izzo is a great coach. They’ve got good players. It felt great to go out there and get a win, only playing them once in the regular-season this year." -- Rapheal Davis
A.J. Hammons tallied his third straight double-double with 19 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocked shots. He now has 22 career double-doubles and is the first Purdue player with three straight double-doubles since Carl Landry on Feb. 28 - March 9, 2007.
Purdue's 11 blocked shots last night tied for the seventh most in a game in school history.
Vince Edwards scored nine points with four rebounds and three assists. He scored six of Purdue's 10 overtime points.
P.J. Thompson scored four points with three rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes. But once again, the sophomore point guard had zero turnovers.
It marked the 17th time in 25 games this year that he had zero turnovers in a game.
P.J. Thompson was given the task of guarding All-American Denzel Valentine. Valentine did score 27 points, but needed 23 shots to do so.
Thompson now has a ridiculous 71:11 (6.45) assist-to-turnover ratio, which would almost double the school record. He has 27 assists against one turnover in his last 10 games.

Caleb Swanigan scored eight points with four rebounds and made two huge shots late in regulation to force overtime in the win over Michigan State.
