One hundred and seven days – that is how long Joseph and Olga Connell were married before they were gunned down in front of their Paladin Club condominium on Sept. 22, 2013. And that is the number state prosecutors flashed across a projector screen to open a trial for two of the murder suspects.

A bi-partisan group of lawmakers wants to double the fines for texting or making a hand-held phone call while driving. House Bill 302, sponsored by Rep. Debra Hudson, R-Fairthorne, would make the penalty for a first offense $100 and the fine for each subsequent offense between $200 and $300.
