A Story through the eyes Photo walk at Kanheri caves

Photowalk - this is something i was doing for the first time; no actually we as a couple were doing for the first time. And it was really a worthwhile experience to share. Joining a group of strangers who had come together for the same purpose, to explore their passion for photography, we had a mentor guiding us through the way.

The location of our photowalk; Kanheri caves - situated inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

It was very surprising to find that a real piece of jungle exists right in the heart of a city like Mumbai, which is more a corporate jungle.

SGNP - a walker's paradise amidst the shady trees; you can also rent cycles if you are the more athletic kind !

Perfect moving shot !!

Our walk was restricted mainly to the caves, and we did not explore much of the national park as such. But sightings of our primate friends was so common everywhere inside.

Several marvellous rock cut cave like formation numbering more than hundred were up the small hill inside the national park. It wasn't possible to explore all of them in the scorching summer sun. However, the few that we managed to view and capture left us in awe of the rich history behind them.

From darkness into the light !

The largest of the statues of Buddha that was there inside the caves.

Master in full focus !
the Men in action !

And finally introducing the photographer - Kannan Narayanan, my better half and travel buddy ! Thanks to him and his never ending thirst for exploring new places, we will continue to share more experiences of our journeys together !
