OVERVIEW: CONTEMPORARY ART FOR SPECTRUM MIAMI INTERNATIONAL ART SHOW, DEC 2-6, 2015 — BOOTH S825 Fifth World Art | Robert Neff

After a four year sabbatical from showing contemporary art to focus on writing and photography, Robert Neff has returned with new work that is refreshing and visually stimulates the senses. Inspired by his photography, Robert has created design studies for art to tell a story. His first solo show in seven years is at Art Miami's SPECTRUM Miami International Art Show 2015.

Robert Neff’s contemporary art is dynamic and vibrant, and engages the senses. His photography and storytelling are the inspiration and basis for his fine art. Nature and life’s colors, tones, and shapes are transformed into mixed media art work. Design studies are used to explore geometrics, color, and patterns. As your perspective changes, so does the design. His approach changes how your vision interprets everyday experiences.

During his solo show at Art Miami’s Spectrum Miami, art lovers were drawn into his fine art work. His style drew comparisons to Vasarely and the Op Art movement. One collector from Uruguay compared his style to "Constructivism" and the great Uruguay artist, Garcia.

Robert’s fine art constructs a new perspective that tells a story you can appreciate and share. Never again will you take the world for granted nor see it in the same manner.

Robert Neff is an award winning photographer. He specializes in weather, international events, sports (Rugby and Grand Prix), NASA, lifestyle, boats and sailing, nature, and wildlife.

For SPECTRUM Miami, Robert has created four mixed media design studies: (1) ROYGBIV Geo Spheres and Designs, (2) Creating The Sunset on 19 March 2015, (3) Kiteboarder Abstract and (4) Water Wrapping the Kiteboarder.

ROYGBIV Geo Spheres

The mixed media design is based Robert Neff's photograph of a Chinese horse. The horse's patterns provided the inspiration to move the surface color into a geometric pattern, which was the basis for the sphere.

ROYGBIV, the colors of the light spectrum, provide a dynamic design series in large format. Additional color studies are planned for the Geo Sphere.

ROYGBIV GEO DESIGNS

The mixed media designs are based upon the ROYGBIV Geo Spheres. The designs explore geometric shapes.

For SPECTRUM Miami, the ROYGBIV GEO Spheres and Designs use the ROYGBIV spectrum but Yellow and Orange are swapped with both traditional Indigo and Violet. This is labeled RYOGBIV. This can be used to test viewer’s science knowledge. The ROYGBIV will be a design series available in the future.

The ROYGBIV Geo Designs produce mesmerizing designs that capture and hold your attention!

CREATING THE SUNSET on 19 March 2015

Twice a year, the sunset is directly down Maximo Channel from Maximo Seafood Shack, located at Maximo Marina, St. Petersburg, Florida. Local communities gather at the "Shack" to celebrate, socialize and enjoy the sun set, which can be seen setting across Boca Ciega Bay behind St. Pete Beach.

The sun’s perspective is reverse from our perspective on earth. The sun paints the sunset in reverse adding textures and depth to create the masterpiece for us to enjoy. This is a live painting where colors change as the sun moves toward the horizon. We only see the see the smooth skies, pastels, clouds, and setting sun.

But how are these magnificent sunsets created? The answer cannot be seen from earth. Robert Neff has captured how the the sun creates the sunset reaches from space with sunset colors and textures. The sun uses a collection of brushes and palette knives, while mixing colors on the palette. The horizon is the canvas.

About the Kiteboarder Abstract

Kiteboarders inspired the two mixed media design studies titled (1) Kiteboard Abstracts, and (2) Water Wrapping the Kiteboarder. All fine art works are based upon Robert Neff's photography. Each study provides a clean and refreshing design.

(1) Kiteboard Abstracts — Each fine art work is based upon my photography. The kiteboarders were demonstrating maneuvers at the Sunshine Skyway Bridge's North Skyway Beach on Tampa Bay side and the West Beach on the Gulf side.

(2) Water Wrapping the Kiteboarder — The inspiration for the design study is based upon Kiteboarder Abstract, No. 15-9055-222-1. The water is wrapping around an abstract of the kiteboarder.

Bird Abstract

Florida bird provide the inspiration for the mixed media design study.
