ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Delegates from across the ASEAN will be flown to attend a three-day forum in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The annual forum is hosted each year by the ASEAN chair, and is sectoral based, with the tourism sector being the focus in 2016.
Applicants from the Accommodation sector, Food and Beverage Sector, Handicrafts and Tour Operators are especially encouraged to apply.
The forum will focus on innovation and technology, marketing and branding, financial literacy training, industry best practice, practical guidance on solving key issues for the tourism sector in ASEAN and information on encouraging gender equality in businesses and workplaces.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Women from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia who are leaders in the tourism Industry are eligible to apply.

1. Date & Venue
The ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism) will take place on 13 to 15 June 2016 at the Lao Plaza Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR.
2. Registration
Delegates for the ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism) are requested to apply to attend by filling in the online form above.
3. Translation
The ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism) will be delivered in English language. Please indicate your translation requirements and English proficiency in the Application.
4. Transportation
Transportation to Vientiane, Lao PDR, from your nearest major airport will be provided for participants in the ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism). Please indicate in the Applicaion the name of your nearest major airport. Participants will be contacted regarding flight details post registration.
5. Visa Requirements
Delegates will need to travel to the Lao PDR to attend the ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism) and its associated events. You will be informed by the organizers of the event if you require a visa. A visa to the Lao PDR can be obtained from Lao Embassies and Consulates if available in your country.
There will be a member of the ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism) organisational team who will meet participants at the arrival gate at the airport and assist you on related matters concerning visas and checking through customs. The visa-on-arrival is valid for 30 days. To obtain a visa-on-arrival you are required to bring one passport-sized photo (3x4).
6. Airport Transfer
Delegates will be provided with an airport transfer to their accommodation.
7. Accommodation
Accommodation in Vientiane, Lao PDR, will be provided for participants in the ASEAN Women's Private Sector Forum (Tourism). Accommodation details will be provided to participants prior to the conference.
8. Meals
Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner will be provided for participants. Alcoholic beverages and additional food/drink items consumed will be charged to the participant.
9. Dress code
Participants are required to dress in business attire throughout the conference.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION ABOUT VIENTIANE, LAO PDR
1. About Vientiane
Vientiane is the capital and largest city of Lao PDR with an estimated population of 760,000. The small capital is situated on the banks of the Mekong River with Lao being the official language spoken.
Steeped in history, the streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops.
2. Weather
Vientiane has a tropical climate with a dry season and a wet season typical of Laos and its neighbouring countries. Temperatures range from warm to hot, with some very humid days when the rains mark the start of the southwest monsoon season in May or June.
3. Banking Facilities and Currency
Numerous ATMs are available throughout Vientiane. Credit Cards are accepted at some accommodation facilities and restaurants.
The local currency of the Lao PDR is call Kip. Currency exchange is available at the airport and at banking facilities. The current exchange rate is approximately 1 USD = 8,150 Kip.
