Thank you for your attention and time in opening this email. The All-College Honors Program's Student Board and newly founded Honors Student Association are proud to present our bi-weekly newsletter.

This is an effort to increase effective communication within the Honors Program without having an excessive number of emails.

During the academic year, we anticipate disseminating this newsletter at the beginning and middle of every month.

Upcoming Events

Honors Program Spring Trip to Boston - Saturday, April 23rd to Monday, April 25th. Out of pocket cost will be $225 per student. *DEADLINE EXTENSION*

The activities included in this trip would be a whale watch, a jazz festival, the Shakespeare festival and two museums/tours of your choosing (New England Aquarium, Fenway Tour, Freedom Walking Tour, Institute of Contemporary Art, and others).

Interests and deposits due by Thursday, March 10th at 2pm to Alice Steltermann (HO 206). Contact Kendall (franzk@canisius.edu) for more information.

Fall 2016 Honors Unveiling Meeting - Wednesday, March 9th 6:30pm-7:30pm in Regis North

Come learning about the Honors courses for this upcoming semester directly from the professors who teach them! The Honors course schedule will also be distributed (2 days earlier than the MyCanisius page).

Free food will be there!

Dr. I. Joan Lorch Award Presentation - Thursday, March 10th at 4:30p-6:30p in Grupp

The Women and Gender Studies program invites you to the annual Dr. I. Joan Lorch Award Celebration to one of our own Honors peers! The award ceremony will take place with appetizers and drinks. The event is free and open to the public.

The Dr. I. Joan Lorch Award for Women and Gender Studies honors individuals who have made significant contributions to women and who exemplify the pursuit of liberation and justice regarding sex, gender and sexuality.

Canisius Student Award: Elizabeth Sawka ’16

Medical Personal Panel- Co-Sponsored by SPHP and Women in Science Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30pm in Science Hall Atrium

This will be a medical panel of health-related professional and how they interdisciplinary act within their profession. Commentary will include how future healthcare professionals can better operate in the future.

Come learn about the interdisciplinary work of a physician, PA, nurse, and researcher. Great information for anyone going through a health professions interview process!

Annual Honor's Easter Egg Hunt- Tuesday March 22nd

More details and prizes to be announced.

Annual Honors Banquet - Wednesday, April 6th at Hotel Lafayette (Greenhouse Room) *Honors students only*

Deadline for dinner reservations & payment is Monday, March 21st, 2p.

6p (social hour) and 7p (dinner). As otherwise planned, we will meet at the Hotel Lafayette (Greenhouse Room), which is easily accessible via the Metro. Reservations can be made with Alice Steltermann (HO 206) by paying a nonrefundable $5/student, $10 for faculty.

Community Day – Saturday, April 9th – begin at Student Center from morning to afternoon

Save the date, and plan on coming with Honors to serve the needy in our community. More information to follow.

2016 Association for Jesuit College and Universities Honors Conference in Gonzaga University. Canisius sent a delegation to learn and compare ourselves to other Jesuit honors programs. Big plans coming soon!
