Cincinnati radio Actors theater Keeping the art of radio theater alive for future generations
" Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear...via the theater stage"
With no visual component, radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the characters and story.
Cincinnati Radio Actors Theater is at the forefront of a growing movement to keep the art of radio drama alive for future generations.
A group of experienced Cincinnati-area professional and semi-professional actors, writers and directors, is embarking on what we like to think is a bold, new path of theater and radio for the 21st century with a feeling of nostalgia. Cincinnati Radio Actors Theater is a radio theater performance troupe, directed by Shawn Maus. Actors Tim Fuqua, Angela Alexander-Nalley, Kathleen O'Niell, and foley artist Mike Morgan round out the talented and versatile ensemble.
Cincinnati Radio Actors Theater presents full-cast productions of radio theater with live sound effects, performed before an enthusiastic audience.
The return of radio comedy and drama, presented before a live theater audience. The show is performed live by some of Cincinnati's best character actors and voice talent. The show will present a varied selection chosen from many of the different radio shows from the 1930's up to the 1960's and some original radio theater. Each show will contain a mixed selection of comedy, drama, sci-fi, mystery, westerns, etc. and, of course, the fabulous commercials of days gone by.
"Radio theater is a creation of the images inside your head."
PRIVATE SHOWS - A Classic Experience for Any Occassion
“Radio theater, or whatever you call it, is again becoming a genre like it was in the ’30s and ’40s. All the lines are getting blurred; TV shows are on Netflix, which is not a TV station. We get to call these things what we want.”
Educational Outreach
In addition to providing quality performances, our goal is to offer educational opportunities for people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, as well as programs for people with special needs. All of our educational programs are available for bookings at libraries, schools and special events.

'What I like about radio is that you develop your own very personal image about everything. TV is so real looking, it's so passive.''
