Scattered Stones b-sides

"As he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Look, Teacher, what large stones and what large buildings!’ Then Jesus asked him, ‘Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.’" Mark 13:1-2
God makes it his business to gather up scattered stones, scattered people, and then he uses those very stones, dull and chipped and irregular, to build something truly beautiful.

listen

The good news is that God draws the boundaries of who fits into his kingdom. God takes scattered stones, displaced people, and brings those outside the boundaries to dwell in his strong tower, to live in the house he builds.

Reflect

1. What have you invested in only to see shattered? How did you feel? How did you recover?

2. What are your scattered stones and how can you give them to God and trust him to use them to rebuild your life in a new direction?

3. How can you be made new? How must you let go and let God take the lead?
