Summit County Citizen's Guide to Surviving Sundance How to enjoy the Festival with minimum difficulty

We all love the excitement and opportunities the Sundance Film Festival brings to the greater Park City area. What we don’t love are long lines at grocery and retail stores, traffic back-ups, restaurant reservations in short supply, and increased cost of parking.

To make the experience enjoyable for locals and visitors alike, consider a few helpful tips:

  • Do your shopping between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Skiing or riding? Take transit and reduce your chance of getting a headache from sitting in traffic while increasing your risk of fun by arriving stress-free.
  • Transit, it’s not for tourists anymore! Traffic is heavy during Sundance, finding a parking spot becomes a sport, and parking fees are higher. Download the Park City Transit App and #rideparkcitytransit: http://go.parkcity.org/InfoPoint/
  • Make your restaurant reservations now! http://www.parkcityrestaurants.com/
  • Carpooling? Park your cars at Richardson Flat and take only one car into town. Do your part in limiting congestion while saving money on expensive parking fees. Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/w4rwiA6DkQp
  • Got Instagram? Snap a selfie of you and your crew riding transit using the hashtags #rideparkcitytransit and #lifeinsummitcounty and you will automatically be entered into a daily drawing during the 10-day Sundance event. Prizes? You guessed it, Sundance swag!
