I AM ALIVE is an original dramatic musical written by Denver's own Emmy award winning composer Denise Gentilini and internationally celebrated singer/songwriter Lisa Nemzo.
This is a love story of nearly 75 years inspired by Gentilini's grandparents, Kourken and Malvine Handjian.
This musical follows Kourken and Malvine, who were children during the Armenian genocide in 1915. What they witnessed, and how their lives were forever.
In I Am Alive, Denise and Lisa deliver a message through 26 songs that the Armenian people, their culture and history despite the atrocities they endured, are very much alive.
