Lent 2016 Mercy Works

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has proclaimed an extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy which began on December 8, 2016 and will end on November 20, 2016.

We have been challenged to be merciful as our Father in heaven is merciful - to be aware of how we can show mercy.
"The holy year won’t be very effective if the doors of our heart do not let Christ enter, who pushes us to go towards others, to bring him and his love"..Pope Francis

During this Lenten Season our contemplation of mercy leads us to The Spiritual Works of Mercy.

What are the Spiritual Works of Mercy?

Counsel the Doubtful | Comfort the Afflicted | Instruct the Ignorant | Admonish Sinners | Bear Wrongs Patiently | Forgive Offenses | Pray for the Living and the Dead

As Catholics we look to those who have shown us how to be Mercy to others - the Saints - and see how their extraordinary lives and courageous love enabled them to be Mercy to others.

Each of these men and women point the way to Mercy.

Be with us this Lent as we explore and share the life in grace that comes to those who show that...
