Few words from the Fair Organizer

Dear AEGEE friends

As Agora Fair Team Responsible and on behalf of the Core Team of Spring Agora Bergamo 2016, we would like to welcome you to the Agora Fair.

We have always believed in the importance of the role of the Fair during the Agoras. It allows AEGEEans and externals to meet and exchange knowledge, opportunities and tips for our future as members, students and human beings. It’s a place where we can explore new paths and take up new challenges. That’s why it has always been important for us to open the Fair not only AEGEE members, but to all the people who want to attend, and to give it a very important role and place: to it will be the kick offkick-off event of the Agora andwill take in the very city centre. During the Agora Fair you’ll be able to meet/get in touch with Institutions, companies, organizations and AEGEE bodies. We are sure that this mix can be a booster for your ideas, projects and motivation, for a better future inside and outside our beloved Organization. We worked very hard with the Fair Manager in order to assure you the best experience you could get from such an event, and we hope that your participation will be as active as possible,to really make an impact! Remember that it’s up to you to make things great, we are only offering a place where you can make the magic happens! So,

Talk, share and start to prepare new things for the next future!

Lisa Gregis

Few words from the Fair Management Team

Dear Network,

A great man once started a speech saying,

"I have a dream..."

This speech still gives us inspiration,

and now we can say that maybe that dream has come true. A dream that became an action, an action that became a Fair.

This fair is our present for all of you, for all of us. Dreams are usually seen as a flux of emotions,

feelings, and memories... This dream is more than that. This Fair is our promise that you will be

inspired by the burning heart that lies behind AEGEE.

Our Forum gathers thousands of Europeans, regardless of their nationality, through our Committees,

Commissions, Project Teams, and Working Groups.

A network made of people will take you to the extreme of your creativity, your enthusiasm, and

your passion for what we love the most.

In the next pages you'll have information about what you'll find in the Fair of Bergamo- for now we

won't spoil anything! Well then, all this is taking too much time!

It's a pleasure for us to welcome you to the AEGEE Fair of Spring Agora Bergamo, we hope that the

same fire that's still burning our hearts will burn yours as well.

We let AEGEE get inside our hearts, but be careful. And trust us - It doesn't leave.

Frankly and Europeanly yours,

Salvo Schillaci & Gabriele Nicotra AEGEE Fair Managers – Spring Agora Bergamo

Rue du Noyer 55... does this address ring a bell to you? That is where some of AEGEE-Europe's magic happens, the laboratory where the Comité Directeur works, the funhouse where most of our European bodies have their meetings, and where seven crazy inhabitants live! But,

how does really look like behind the doors of the number 55?

Find us at our stand at the AEGEE Fair, and get a bunch of AEGEE-Europe stickers. Find out how to get involved in the next Key to Europe. Celebrate with us the launch of our upcoming Instagram account. Get a sneak peek on how our members of the Comité Directeur live. Check by yourself how the AEGEE House looks like – and how previous AEGEE Houses looked like in the past. But, especially, come to us and ask us any possible question you might have – we will be more than happy to answer! See you at the Fair... or at the Rue du Noyer!

We are the official pool of trainers of AEGEE aiming to provide high quality non-formal education trainings that facilitate the self-development of our trainees. We are specialized in many topics, varying from soft skill workshops to practical trainings, all focused at the world of non-profit organizations and social entrepreneurship. Come meet us at our stand to learn more about our future events and how to join our pool!

Trainers, come get your Academy t-shirt!

Do you record everything just in case you could make a promo with that footage?

Do you hate anything written in Comic Sans and facepalm a lot on “WordArts”?

Do you hate when people doesn’t know how to use #social #networks and uses #hashtags everywhere? #facepalm #wtfpeople #thanksobama

PRC, the Public Relations Committee of AEGEE-Europe (yea, sounds kinda important) is looking for you! The main aim of PRC is to support AEGEE-Europe and locals with tasks related to Public Relations, communications, graphic design, promotion planning and journalism. PRC has 21 members and from Agora Kyiv until Agora Chisinau speaker team consists of Gerardo García Díaz (AEGEE-Oviedo) and Mayri Tiido (AEGEE-Tartu), plus Anna Gumbau as appointed member from the Comité Directeur. Our members are divided into four teams, so you can join us if you are interested in any of them:

  • like to have PRC ones as a snack. We are looking for creative people with a diverse interest in PR, who could come up with cool ideas for social media sharing.
  • PR+HR Team - People who are natural promoters and headhunters and like fresh blood. We are looking for creative people who like to talk a lot with others and have good management skills, with experience in the PR and HR fields.
  • Visual Identity Team - People who call themselves #VIfreaks, that know how to use the Visual Identity of AEGEE-Europe and want to make others to love it as well. We are looking for determined people, who can’t be fooled by the dark forces of non-VI designs.
  • Design Team - People who only see vectors and pixels, and can convert ideas into art. We are looking for creative minds who master the fine-art of graphic design (even while sleeping), including those who have brilliant ideas but can’t design, giving their input to the ones that can.

Public Relations Committee is looking for new, yet unknown heroes to rise from the shades.

Join PRC and become not just the hero that we deserve, but the one we need right now.
Would you like to play a game with Bob?

Bob recently became a member of AEGEE and he likes beer. That’s a good start. However, he’s quite pessimistic about his future, because his country copes with high youth unemployment rates. He feels that European countries including his own are not cooperating successfully to create a better future. He knows that an exchange program could cheer him up, but he doesn’t know who to ask for more information and instead, grabs another beer. Lucky him, because at the ACT-stand, you can help to brighten up his future! Every three years, AEGEE formulates a strategic plan defining the challenges for the coming four years. Currently our focus areas are spreading Europtimism, fighting youth unemployment, promoting youth mobility and emphasizing the importance of civic education. For each focus area, AEGEE sets itself objectives that are written down each year in the Action Agenda. The Action Agenda Coordination Committee supports locals with ideas and monitors their progress. Too ease the process, the committee yearly publishes a guidelines booklet, which can be used as a cooking book for organizing activities related to the strategic plan. Train your Bob using the guideline power ups to make him a more responsible, mobile, optimistic and employed Eurocitizen. Play strategically, be the first to reach all four objectives and have a chance to win a prize for the most ‘ACTive player of the Fair’!

The Summer University is an event that takes place during summer between one and four weeks in most of the cities that AEGEE is present. Understanding and exploring the multicultural dimension of the European continent, removing national borders, fighting for tolerance and creating open-minded citizens are some of the reasons why 20 to 50 young Europeans from all over Europe come together in each Summer University to taste the diversity of multiculturalism."

make Civic Europe, Educated Europe!
The ECI “More Than Education – Shaping Active and Responsible Citizens”

aims at strengthening civic competences among young Europeans by improving the way they are taught at school. The tool of the ECI was chosen for this purpose, as it is a shining example of political participation by young citizens, as well as probably the only way to put stronger coordination of education policies on the EU agenda in the current political climate.

What do we want with the ECI? With the ECI, citizens shall ask the European Commission to support member states in their responsibility to enable young people from all backgrounds to develop competences for participating responsibly in society. In order to promote cohesion, action should be coordinated throughout the Union by setting a long-term agenda together with stakeholders, creating benchmarks and undertaking periodic evaluations, as well as sharing best practice. Come to our stand to find more about us!

As a local located in the East of the West and in the West of the East, AEGEE-Bakı is organizing projects mixing both styles. Therefore, we would like to talk about them. For instance, we include both Eastern and Western colors to our SUs and International Festival in which we have participants from all around the world. Besides, we want to give some information about our local structure and performances of our members. As a local AEGEE-Bakı is having too interesting events which we want to share with others. That's why our projects always differ from other local organizations' events.

We have five Working Groups and they are having various events every week. Some of them become famous among our youth. Our aim is to promote them and show what we are doing in our local. Also, we can find other AEGEEans organizing the same projects and can work together afterwards so that all the parties will benefit. Moreover, we want to talk about the involvement of our members to our events and how we achieve it. We would like to hear the feedbacks and seize them in our future projects.

And of course we would be more than glad to promote our international projects. For instance, in March we held Novruz - International Youth Festival 2016 in which 30 participants from different continents took part. And as AEGEE-Bakı is going to have two Summer Universities this year, we want to present them in this Fair. It will be very useful for the organizers to hear some comments beforehand and make the factors discussed better. Even there is an opportunity for us to find some partners for the future.

Come to AEGEE-Utrecht’s stand at the Agora Fair to find out more about the LGBT event we will organize from the 22nd till the 27 of June. As this is still a topic that doesn’t get so much attention within AEGEE, we found it important to organize a European Event about it. During our event you can experience the LGBT nightlife in both Utrecht and Amsterdam, you can meet students from the Utrecht Gay Student Association, you will go round the canals in a boat, you will attend a lecture about Sexual Diversity in Europe and discuss about the topic of LGBT and share experiences with other participants. You will learn more about the topic and broaden your horizon!

Wait with us at the LGBT-friendly traffic lights, and cross the rainbow road with us in Utrecht!

At our stand at the Agora Fair you can think with us on these questions: How is LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) perceived in Europe? How is the situation in your country?

Share your thoughts or experiences with us and put your post-it on the rainbow! You can also participate in a little quiz to test your knowledge about LGBT and win a little prize!
