Storm Surge Over the Docks at Maximo Marina, St. Petersburg, Florida — 17 Jan 2016 PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBERT NEFF

At 7 AM, another storm engulfed Maximo Marina, St. Petersburg, Florida. At tornado had touched down south in Manatee County and claimed two lives. For my #CondoSeniors at Maximo, some received tornado alerts via text. Others are checking to see why they did not get a text. Unfortunately, the tornado alert was after 1 AM and I was the only one awake who heard this here.

Sunrise was at 7:22 AM at 113 degrees (to the right of the photo) but the storms had blocked visibility.

Around 7:40 AM, the rain had subsided and the worst had moved through Tampa Bay. There was enough cloud separation for us to see the sunrise.

Pelicans arrived around 9:30 AM to Check on the Maximo Seafood Shack.

Boats endured the storm and are waiting to be returned to the high and dry storage at Maximo Marina.

11 AM and the Maximo Seafood Shack is getting ready to open.

Blues skies returned in the afternoon. Time on the photograph is 2:52 PM.

Robert Neff is an award winning photographer. He specializes in weather, international events, sports (Rugby and Grand Prix), NASA, lifestyle, boats and sailing, nature, wildlife, and travel. Work has been published in national and international newspapers and magazines.

ARTIST STATEMENT: Robert Neff’s contemporary art is dynamic and vibrant, and engages the senses. His photography and storytelling are the inspiration and basis for his fine art. Nature and life’s colors, tones, and shapes are transformed into mixed media art work. Design studies are used to explore geometrics, color, and patterns. As your perspective changes, so does the design. His approach changes how your vision interprets everyday experiences.

During his solo show at Art Miami’s Spectrum Miami, art lovers were drawn into his fine art work. His style drew comparisons to Vasarely and the Op Art movement. One collector from Uruguay compared his style to "Constructivism" and the great Uruguay artist, Garcia.

Robert’s fine art constructs a new perspective that tells a story you can appreciate and share. Never again will you take the world for granted nor see it in the same manner.
