RYOGBIV Geo Designs Mixed Media Design Study by Robert Neff

CONTEMPORARY ART FOR SPECTRUM MIAMI INTERNATIONAL ART SHOW, DEC 2-6, 2015 — BOOTH S825

ARTIST STATEMENT: Robert Neff’s contemporary art is dynamic and vibrant, and engages the senses. His photography and storytelling are the inspiration and basis for his fine art. Nature and life’s colors, tones, and shapes are transformed into mixed media art work. Design studies are used to explore geometrics, color, and patterns. As your perspective changes, so does the design. His approach changes how your vision interprets everyday experiences.

During his solo show at Art Miami’s Spectrum Miami, art lovers were drawn into his fine art work. His style drew comparisons to Vasarely and the Op Art movement. One collector from Uruguay compared his style to "Constructivism" and the great Uruguay artist, Garcia.

Robert’s fine art constructs a new perspective that tells a story you can appreciate and share. Never again will you take the world for granted nor see it in the same manner.

Robert Neff is an award winning photographer. He specializes in weather, international events, sports (Rugby and Grand Prix), NASA, lifestyle, boats and sailing, nature, and wildlife.

ABOUT ROYGBIV GEO DESIGNS: ROYGBIV Geo Designs explore geometric shapes based upon the ROYGBIV GEO Sphere. The mixed media design explores ROYGBIV, the colors of the light spectrum, which provide a dynamic design series in large format. Additional studies are planned for the Geo DESIGNS.

The Geo Sphere is based on a photograph of a jade chinese horse. I was invited to preview the horse at an exclusive fine art gallery in Dallas, Texas. Within my photograph I was inspired by the pattern made by the carved jade. I used the pattern to create a geometric design that became the baseline for the sphere. One note, the chinese horse provided the inspiration for the design and is not visible.

For SPECTRUM Miami, the ROYGBIV GEO Spheres and Designs use the ROYGBIV spectrum but Yellow and Orange are swapped with both traditional Indigo and Violet. This is labeled RYOGBIV and is pronounced RIO-G-Biv.. This can be used to test viewer’s science knowledge. The ROYGBIV will be a design series available in the future.

All works are 40x40 unless otherwise specified. Limited Edition — 100
