The Southern California Tasting & Auction May 1, 2016 at Cal Poly Pomona

A light breeze and a jazz music in the background created an inviting atmosphere for the 2016 Tasting & Auction.

Numerous restaurants served their finest, including Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, Lazy Dog Cafe, and Pacific Palms Resort
Guests strolled through the campus' Rose Garden and Aratani Japanese Garden.

The event boasted more than 50 booths with food and wine of all kinds. Restaurants chefs cooked on-site, ensuring the freshest and best tasting offerings possible.

Guests voted for their favorite items throughout the event. Brio Tuscan Grille from Rancho Cucamonga swept the competition, winning best appetizer, best entree and best dessert.

Executive chef Josh Laquet says there are two things that make Brio special:

“Creativity and great taste. It’s what we do every day in our restaurant.”

Raising funds for student scholarships, guests bid on items in silent and live auctions, including sports memorabilia, a private dinner with President Coley and a trip to Italy.

“It's a great community event. I enjoy learning about local places. Everyone is so nice."

—Iliana Olivero, guest

Kenny Sara & The Sounds of New Orleans played jazz music, keeping the spirit of the event upbeat.
