Montessori Lyceum was a Jewish school. Anne Frank went to this school before she went into hiding. Teachers said she was a very social and bright student.

Secret Annex

The Secret Annex is where the Frank's hid during the holocaust. It was originally her father's office. It was behind her house and she stayed there with her family and four other people.

Marriage between Jews and subjects of the state of German or related blood are forbidden. Marriages nevertheless concluded are invalid, even if concluded abroad to circumvent the law. Annulment proceedings can be initiated only by the State Prosecutor.

Extramarital intercourse between Jews and subjects of the state of German or related blood is forbidden.

Jews may not employ in their household female subjects of the state of German o related blood who are under 45 years old.

Jews are forbidden to fly the Reich or National flag or to display the Reich colors. They are, on the other hand, permitted to display the Jewish colors. The exercise of this right is protected by the State.

Any person who violates the prohibition under I will be punished by a prison sentence with hard labor. A male who violates the prohibition under I will be punished with a prison sentence with or without hard labor. Any person violating the provisions under III or IV will be punished with a prison sentence of up to one year and a fine, or with one or the other of these penalties. The Reich Minister of the Interior, in coordination with the Deputy of the Führer and the Reich Minister of Justice, will issue the Legal and Administrative regulations required to implement and complete the Law. The Law takes effect on the day following promulgations except for III, which goes into force on January 1, 1936. Nuremberg, September 15, 1935 at the Reich Party Congress of Freedom.

Propaganda

Britain, Japan, Russia, and the U.S all went to war with propaganda. Propaganda is promotion of an opinionated point of view. They're usually publicized with movies, posters, and persuasive speeches. Most of these were offensive. The objective of these advertisements were to convince or brainwash people into believing a certain point of view. These pictures are only a few of the propaganda.

Anne Frank

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who lived through the Halocaust. During this time, she hid with her family and another family. They hid for 2 years in a building above her father's office. In her diary, Anne called this place the Secret Annex. The Frank's were found and sent to a death camp called Bergen-Belsen. Anne died there at age 15 from typhus.

Otto Frank

Otto was Anne's father. He moved his family into safety in the Secret Annex. Otto Frank was sent to the concentration camp, Auschwitz. He was the only one who survived through the camp and returned to their house in Germany. Otto found Anne's diary and decided to publish it.

Miep Gies

Miep Gies, also known as Hermine Santruschitz, was a friend of the Frank family. She worked for Otto and became close with his family. Miep helped them hide from the Nazis. She supplied them with food while they were in the annex. She born into an Austrian family but became ill. Then, she moved into a foster home with a Dutch family.

Margot Frank

Margot Frank was Anne's older sister. She was known to be very quiet and modest. While hiding in the Secret Annex, she focused on studies so she wouldn't be behind if she went back to school. On July 5, 1942, she received a letter that said they come to a camp. This is when the Frank's went into hiding.

Act I Summary

The Franks and Van Daans are in hiding. Miep Gies, Mr. Frank's friend, delivers meals to them in the Annex. Although food is becoming more and more scarce making it hard for Miep to supply a variety. They're in, what they call, a bean cycle, where all they eat are beans. Mr. Dussel moves into Anne's room. They spend Hannukah in the Annex and Anne gives everyone presents.

Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest ghetto all throughout Europe. It began on April 19, 1943. 300 German soldiers were killed and over 56,000 Jews were killed. The Jewish moral in Poland was that fighting against Germans would result in many casualties.

Anne Frank Act II Summary

The Franks, Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel continue to live in the Annex. Miep brings them a cake, something they haven't seen for several months. Peter and Anne started to develop a relationship and begin to spend more time together. Mr. Van Daan is caught stealing bread at night. Mrs. Frank threatens to kick the Van Daans out. Once she calms down she comes to her senses and allows them to remain in the annex. The Franks and Van Daans are turned in and the green police come and take them away.
