friends Matter It's all about you
One of the unexpected perks of taking a departure from the pace of our regular lives has been the opportunity to connect and reconnect with many friends. Perhaps it's been a lucky string of events that've allowed our paths to cross more frequently that in previous years, perhaps we have subconsciously sought you out because we know that we'll be gone for a spell. But then again, perhaps it is because we are more open this year, more apt to say yes.
If you are reading this, it's because it's all about you. We've seen you enmasse at our Scarlet HS reunion. We've gathered as The Red Shoe readers, The DC Investors, The Clearwater coffee-ers, and Sunshine team. .
We've shared wine, coffee, beer, lunch, raclette, Pho, crepes, golf, pedicures; and did I mention wine. You've been there for website meetings, wonderful weddings, Christmas dinner, Sunday service, Dutch blitz, Central Park and Union square. And that's just to name a few. You know who you are

You may have heard the saying "People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime" and while that may have been true pre-zuckerberg now we can virtually weather the seasons of life with many friends over miles and decades. We've honestly "liked" seeing pics of your growing families, knowing where you're at and what you're up to. We appreciate your honesty and authenticity, your worldviews and opinions (even the wacky ones). You've challenged us and changed us; confused us and entertained us.

If you haven't heard of the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, it's a read I recommend. I'll spare you the details and just tell you that my first language is quality time. That being said, I want to thank you, my friends, for sharing that elusive commodity--quality time--with us. The fact that you've gone out of your way to share meals and stories and laughs speaks volumes about the amazing people we are lucky to have in our circle. Thank you.
Our travels to date have taken us to British Columbia, Florida, New York City, Martinique, Montreal, Boston, Toronto, back to BC and some time in Calgary too. Now we are on the first stop of a round-the-world tour, Honolulu, Hawaii. Along the way, we've had the chance to get together with many of you, and hope the trend continues once we resume business as usual. In the meantime, we will post as we go, feel free to tag along, we enjoy your company.
