Saving The Worlds Rainforest Help make the world better
Today rainforests across the world are disappearing rapidly. The good thing is that many people want to help save these rainforests. The bad thing is that its not as easy as we think it is. If many people of world make an effort to ensure that our rainforest and wildlife are protected then we will be able to love, appreciate and benifit from these beautiful rainforests.
Many rainforest in central and south america has been burned down to turn into cattle farming. The cattle farming will supply cheap beef to North american, china and russia. In the past 20 years Coasta Rica has lost majority of their rainforest to cattle ranching.
Heres a picture of what the cattle farm looks like. Here there used to be a rainforest. Now as you can see, there is a cattling ranch.
The World Bank and large companies invest money in developing countries to build dams for the generation of electricity. This can involve flooding vast areas of rainforest. Dams built in rainforest areas often have a short life because the submerged forest gradually rots, making the reservoir water acidic, which eventually corrodes the dam turbines.
This is believed to be the second largest cause of deforestation. Timber companies cut down huge trees such as mahogany and teak and sell them to other countries to make furniture. Smaller trees are often used for the production of charcoal.
Now How Can We Help The Rain forest ?
1. Don't Hurt The Envirnoment!!! Dont Get hard wood flooring "real wood".
2.Try To Eat less meat. Now So much meat is being produced in large lots.
3.Learn about the rainforest. Pass the word down. Tell people how important it is to save the rainforest.
4.Support the companies and organizations that are helping the rainforest.
5.Support the people who live in the rainforests in their efforts to save their environment.
6.BUY some rainforest land for preservation – you can do this through the World Land Trust.
