The Arvada Center A Celebration of 40 years, and a new Beginning
On July 9, the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities celebrates 40 years of art, theater, music and education With a special concert by the Colorado Symphony in their fantastic outdoor amphitheatre.
This summer the Arvada Center transitions from a city agency to an independent nonprofit who manages the programs and services while the City of Arvada retains ownership of the facility
The evening includes a presentation for dignitaries to recognize the historic transition . Five people who have volunteered at the Center since the 1976 opening will also be honored.
The Colorado Symphony will play selections from notable Arvada Center Main Stage productions, West Side Story, Miss Saigon, and Oklahoma. The evening also features well-known musical theatre actors and members of the Arvada Center’s Musical Theatre Teen Intensive summer camp performing more popular Arvada Center productions .

Since its opening in July 1976, the award-winning Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities has grown to become one of the nation’s largest multidisciplinary arts centers, devoted to all aspects of the arts and humanities and generously supported in part by the City of Arvada, the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and Colorado Creative Industries.
