Andrea has job, a place to live, money in savings, and is a member of a local church. She is a recent graduate of the Women's Center of Hope at the Albuquerque Rescue Mission.
"In the darkness, even a single light shines bright."
Around the world, terror groups seek to bring destruction, death, and fear. The darkness can be overwhelming. But Andrea's life represents hope.
During Holy Week, we reflect on ancient writings and sacrifices made in antiquity. Today, in Andrea's new life, we see the reason God gave His only, precious Son to die for our sins.
No terrorist or acts of hate can defeat the love of God. All is not lost. Hope wins. Love wins. God changes people. He makes us new. No bomb can stop that.
This week is a celebration. When the blameless, holy, bleeding Son of God shouted "It is finished" He did not mean HE was finished.
Jesus was not finished. His work was just beginning. We are privileged to be called to share in that work - rescuing lost and broken people. That is our mission - to rescue.
Join with us. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Give. Give joyfully, knowing you are a part of God's plan to change the world. He does what no one else can do - change lives.
