SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY PREP CLASS
I had a great time teaching these gifted students. My colleague Matt Kline is the adult standing in the back row. He's done a fine job here.

A beautiful space for eurhythmics, solfège ... thanks so much for the opportunity!!!!
NEW FRIENDS: FACULTY AND STUDENTS
They had their first Dalcroze Solfège class. It blew their minds...
A GREAT EURHYTHMICS CLASS
Had a great time working on changing meter ... what a joy!
SYNCOPATION ON THE MOVE
Worked with the "horse and buggy" to gain the experience of the resistance between the beat and rhythm...
CRUSIC PHRASING
So great working with Drama students again... we worked on moving from the core and creating crusic phrases in space.
A GREAT GROUP OF NEW AND OLD FRIENDS
My former student Lois Ferrari from Ithaca College is in the back row, third from the left. Thanks Lois for your continued support even after all these years!

CHAMBER WIND ENSEMBLE
I love watching the faces change from "this is a crazy man" to "OMG this guy makes sense."
BASSOON MAJORS
It's so great working with students who all play the same instrument. Making the lesson relevant to their musical lives is much easier.
GRADUATE VOCAL PEDAGOGY
The future of vocal teaching is in good hands with these fine grad students. We did anacrusic phrasing combined with changing meter. Great fun.

Note that we moved to the Recital Hall with wood floor, and two beautiful 9' Hamburg Steinways, which may be the best pianos made on earth. These students are so fortunate!

ANTON NELL'S GRADUATE PIANO CLASS
Honored to work with such talented piano doctoral students. They were fascinated with the pure rhythmic modes since they exist in every piece as an underlined rhythm. I truly enjoyed their personalities and their musicianship...
DARLENE WILEY'S VOCAL STUDENTS
We worked very hard at creating phrases with the pure rhythmic modes. These talented singers were a delight to teach....
DARLENE LEONARD'S HARP CLASS
So great to work with a small group of young women who were excited about learning. With them the harp is well represented...
JOSHUA GINDELE'S CELLO CLASS
An extraordinary class of young musicians who were excited to learn a new way of approaching musicianship and music making. What a joy to work with these very gifted students.
BARITONE DAVID SMALL'S VOICE STUDENTS
We discovered that the CRUSIS lifts and the ANACRUSIS falls as we learned the Greek Rhythmic Modes, a very difficult first class...

What is depicted here was a wonderful whirlwind tour of three very excellent schools of music in the beautiful state of Texas. I visited Dallas and Austin. The Dallas local MTNA chapter held an all-day Dalcroze Workshop and the three universities provided almost 30 one-hour and two-hours different classes of undergraduate and graduate students.

The connection with these young people was almost immediate. They were quick to identify the musician in me as I was to identify the musician in each of them.

SMU provided two different children's classes where we covered all of the rhythmic modes. The children were quick and were already familiar with the patterns and their Greek names.
