Terra Boulevard is OPEN! Route 53 Roundabout
This past Friday morning, the Route 53 roundabout opened along with the new entrance into Terra State Community College - Terra Boulevard. After months of planning and construction, the removal of the orange cones is more than welcomed.
The 2.2 million dollar project has been in the works since 2012 and with the help of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), the project opened ahead of schedule and within budget. The roundabout is 560 ft in length on State Route 53, with an 18 ft lane width. Terra Boulevard is 0.4 miles in length and allows for traffic to enter and exit the college. In the next few weeks, light poles will be installed and we anticipate new signage and wayfinding to be completed by this summer.

How to navigate through our stop signs at the intersection of the original main drive and the new Terra Boulevard.
If traveling inbound or outbound on the original main drive, you are required to come to a complete stop at the intersection and yield to all oncoming traffic from Terra Boulevard. All oncoming Terra Boulevard traffic has the right-of-way at this intersection. Please obey the posted stop signs and note the pavement marking for appropriate traffic direction. Our marketing team also put together a few navigational videos for those new to roundabouts. These can be viewed from the Terra State YouTube page along with aerial videos (thanks to Bruce Chambers of An Aerial Viewpoint) of the project.
