On November 6, Clemson Athletics, IPTAY and University officials celebrated the groundbreaking of a new football complex — a $55 million, 140,000 square-foot facility that will be the new home of Clemson Football beginning in February 2017.

“We are very excited and appreciative about this new day-to-day home of our program,” said Head Coach Dabo Swinney. “This complex will be one of the best in the nation and will allow us to continue our pursuit to be among the best programs in the country. We look forward to it being the home of Clemson football for a very long time."

Coach Swinney describes the new complex as the "epitome of Clemson: fun, special and the best in the country."

To that end, one of the goals of the facility is to provide members of the football program and visitors with a truly unique experience you can only get at Clemson. Features that help establish the "Clemson Experience" include:

  • Career Development & Leadership Center
  • Players’ Lounge that includes: barber shop, arcade, bowling alley, laser tag, billiards, ping pong and basketball
  • Indoor replica of The Hill and Howard’s Rock
  • 24-seat HD theater
  • Indoor golf simulator
  • Indoor slide

"One of the innovative elements of this building is how it will allow our staff and players to operate more efficiently," said Clemson Football Director of Recruiting & External Affairs Thad Turnipseed. "The new facility gives our program an opportunity to build a highly-functional space that is customized to fit our needs and help grow our program."

Unique operational elements include:

  • Top training/rehab facility
  • 50-person plunge pools inside locker room
  • 20,000 square-foot weight room
  • First-of-its-kind recovery/nap rooms
  • Nutrition center
  • Dining facility
  • State-of-the-art position meeting rooms
  • First-of-its-kind recruiting war room

"The motivation to build this facility came from a series of conversations with Coach Swinney about what we needed to take our program into the future," said Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich. "This is a tremendous opportunity for our football program. It keeps everyone together under one roof and provides that great 'Clemson Family' atmosphere."
