Programs developed or modified are typically linked to several other programs; (i.e., the output of one becomes the input for another). Maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to users as well as to others in ITS. Works according to approved requirements and detailed specifications. Applies judgment in devising program logic and selecting and adapting standard programming procedures; obtains advice when precedents are unclear or unavailable.

Advice to Students

While you many not have all the knowledge you need today, by pushing yourself, you can obtain the knowledge needed for tomorrow.

Advice to Students

As a non-traditional college student, I found it overwhelming to balance family, work, and school. My advice to students is to manage time wisely, make sure you are going to school for something that you enjoy, and have fun. That cuts the stress level way down.

The Communications director also oversees all internal live and post production staff in audio, video and lighting, and oversees IT operations for First Free Rockford.

Advice to Students

Assume all curriculum will be relevant to your future success. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't loose sight of your goals. Work hard at everything.

My primary goal is to be a leader in risk mitigation for our engineering organization. My core duties involve test automation, writing test plans/cases, test lab maintenance/configuration, book bill ship (fulfillment) testing and staging, and Quality Assurance SOP. I am also tasked with interviewing engineering prospects.

Advice to Students

Focus on your fundamentals and make sure they're solid. If your fundamentals are strong, you'll be prepared to take on more detailed work once the rubber meets the road in your first career.
