The D is Silent Riding the Django

Devinci Django Carbon RS

There once was a time when a mountain bike was simply that, a mountain bike. There were no specialties, bikes could go up hills just as well as they could go down, geometries were generally the same and people just liked to shred.

Django is the mountain bike for people who just want a mountain bike. If you want something that can shred descents, while being able to climb like a bat out of hell, the Django is the bike of choice. The medium travel makes it a great all rounder for someone who just wants to get out and have a good time on the bike.

SRAM x1 1 by 11 keeps this beast snappy on the trails, allowing for a gear for anything the trail can send its way. While going through a big chainring can be a bit of a learning curve if you are used to the old 2x and 3x systems, it doesn't take long until you're navigating the 11 speeds with ease. This also frees up the cockpit for things like dropper posts (one of my favourite parts of the bike) and suspension remote lockouts.

It is also a super clean look.

Maxxis shoes on this beast, dressed for whatever gnarliness the trail can throw at you. Even with the big lugs, this thing rips. It does particularly well on dry hardpack, but she also loves to get muddy.

Mountain Biking is becoming fun again. For most of the 00's there was an emphasis on getting things done on the racecourse. Manufacturers were pushing the race ready systems, giving people too much bike and too many options.

I am glad to see that Devinci (and others, soon to be announced) are going back to the roots of the sport. Things are getting fun again. We've done all of the innovating and pushing the tech as far as it could go for a while. It is time to apply it to a fast lil ripper that just wants to keep riding and riding. The Django is exactly this beast.

We've gotten to the point that we are looking for more than a competition ready bike. Lifestyle riding is no longer just for cruisers and city bikes. The Mountain Bike lifestyle is one that thrives on stoke, on getting muddy, on doing things for the hell of it, for cheap beer and doom metal, for being silly, for taking a bike places it has no business being. If this is the way the industry is heading, I have a lot of hope for the future of Mountain Biking

The D is Silent, Hillbilly...
Raceface Bars and Guide Rs. She's shred ready.
That tread is just mean.

After around 25km of throwing everything I could at her, the Django still wanted to rip. I took it up climbs, down steep flowy descents, got it muddy, jumped it, dropped it, flowed through singletrack, cruised pavement, climbed meandering trails... basically anything I could think of.

Django did it all.

For someone who is looking for an all around Mountain Bike that can do anything, the Django is the beast.

Think of it like a really good multitool. There is something for each job. It doesn't do any specific thing perfectly, but that here is the point. Most people don't ride one specific way. People do things differently every day. If you're someone who wants a shred sled that can take whatever you can throw at it and more, Django throws down.

The way things are supposed to be. Black and White and Muddy.
She looks good with a bit of mud on her.

Django, you uppity sonofabitch....
