Cathedral of St. Helena
The Cathedral of Saint Helena is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena, Montana. Constructed between 1908-1924, it was designed by A.O. Von Herbulis in the Gothic Revival architectural style. Its 59 stained glass windows were made and installed by the F.X. Zettler Firm of Munich, Bavaria, who claimed that these windows surpassed any which they had ever made.
Last Chance Gulch and the Historic Downtown
The crooked path of Last Chance Gulch, weaving between original mining claims, memorializes Helena' s chaotic beginning as a gold camp in 1864. Helena survived after the placer gold played out and population declined, because pioneer entrepreneurs had made it a financial center. The arrival of the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1883, and Helena's election as state capital in 1894, confirmed the town’s survival. The panic of 1893 and end of guaranteed federal silver purchases slowed Helena's early momentum, but the gold camp that survived grew gradually as a business and government center.
Mining Helena's Visual Gold
At the Montana 15 IT conference, we demonstrated how the visual treasures found within Helena's everyday experience can be mined, polished and displayed using the latest Adobe technology such as Capture CC for iOS, Photoshop Mix for iOS, CC Libraries, Adobe Stock, Illustrator CC 2015 and Adobe Slate.
