Meet Margery #GirlsinTechkc

Margery Sendze didn’t follow a conventional path into the field of technology. Born and raised in Cameroon, Margery earned an undergraduate degree in journalism and a graduate degree in communications.

But early in her career while working as an analyst, she encountered a problem and needed to learn how to code to find the solution.

“Thereafter, I became a web developer and continued to learn and grow in the discipline,” Margery says. “Today as a Technology Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, I have the unique opportunity to work with others in developing their careers in technology.”

Margery puts the same energy into her personal pursuits—following her love of learning, traveling with her family and running marathons in different parts of the world—into her roles in the workplace.

“I have worked in the field of technology for more than 17 years, and I use my knowledge and background to develop others and enable them to learn and grow in their own technology careers,” she says. “I feel most rewarded as a professional and as a citizen, when I invest my talents and passion toward the growth and development of people—at work and in my communities.”

Margery knows technology is often considered a challenging field, but also knows how rewarding it can be.

“If you love to solve problems, you will love technology because it presents a wide range of possibilities and solutions to everyday problems,” Margery says. “If you can dream it, you can build it!”
