Gateway Auto Museum By John Lamm

Down in a valley at the junction of five spectacular Colorado canyons is Gateway. The municipality is so small there’s not much to Google to learn, but take our word for it, the area is beautiful. And not easy to get to, about 1 1/2 hours from Grand Junction, Colorado.

Yet worth the drive. That’s where you will find the Gateway Canyons resort, a luxury retreat, but what we care about is the Gateways Canyon Auto Museum. Created by John Hendricks, who founded the Discovery Channel, it is a beautifully done display that walks you through the history of cars from the Model T forward with a nice emphasis on postwar cars. Well done displays and open seven days a week from 10 am.

Catch it on your way to Moab, Utah and the spectacular Arches National Park.
