Kenya with The Trumps #7 A Reporting Series on Visiting Missionaries
Monday road trip upcountry.
Today was an all day road trip with Shauen and the two younger boys to Olesirwa, a small village 112 miles outside Nairobi near Nakuru.
Some things you see along the road in Kenya.
We drove over the hills, up to 9000 feet above sea level. The views were epic.
The nice road gave way to a much more natural one. Shauen's truck was ready and I will say that he is a great driver.
We reached the village and met with the elders in their newly completed sanctuary on the top of the hill.
This is the view out the front door of the church.
The land for the sanctuary was donated by the chief and completed not long ago.
Then it was time to eat!
We were intvited to a meal at the home of Evangelist Ezekiel Bosire and feasted on ugali, a Kenyan staple that is just like grits with all the water cooked out, a chicken stew, a goat stew, and mixed tea which is boiled milk, sugar, water, and tea leaves.
We had some visitors around the door...
Best part about Kenyan culture so far? They wash their hands before AND AFTER every meal! (If you know me, you know how great this is. Shauen explained to the group why I was so happy...)
Shauen shared some words from scripture and encouraged the group.
Then we had to depart to make it home by dark.
What an awesome day... Till tomorrow...
