@BoilerBall 83, Maryland 79 Purdue knocks off its second straight top-10 foe on Saturday at Mackey Arena.

A.J. Hammons scored 19 points with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. He has now scored in double-figures in 10 straight games, the longest streak for a player since the 2013-14 season.

Hammons made a pair of 3-pointers and is now 6-of-10 on the season. Hammons is 1-of-3 players nationally to have at least 10 3-point attempts and shoot 60.0 percent from long distance.

A.J. Hammons moved into 5th place on the Big Ten career blocked shots list, tying Herb Williams with 328 blocked shots.

Purdue is now 11-1 this year when he leads the team in scoring.

In games that at least 15 NBA scouts were in attendance (Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Maryland), Hammons averaged 19.7 PPG, 10.0 RPG and 5.3 BPG while shooting 22-of-39 (.564) from the field.

Dakota Mathias tied a career high with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He also added four assists in 27 minutes.

Mathias scored 12 first-half points, including nine of Purdue's last 11 points, to give the Boilermakers a 44-39 halftime lead.

Mathias' 17 points were more than he scored in the previous four games combined (11 points).

Mathias is now shooting 37.8 percent (34-of-90) from 3-point range and owns a 3.44 assist-to-turnover ratio (62/18).

Vince Edwards tallied 11 points with seven rebounds and two assists in the win over Maryland.

When Edwards scores in double-figures, the Boilermakers are now 11-2 this season and 18-5 for his career.

Edwards is 1-of-3 freshmen or sophomores nationally to have 500 career points, 300 career rebounds and 150 career assists (UConn's Daniel Hamilton, Oregon's Dillon Brooks).

Caleb Swanigan continued his improvement with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists. Swanigan needs just 14 rebounds to move in to the Purdue single-season top-20 list for rebounds.

With A.J.Hammons now with 213 rebounds, Purdue has two players with 210 rebounds in a season for the first time since the 1977-78 season (Swanigan 235; Hammons 213).

Rapheal Davis scored 11 points with seven rebounds and hounded Rasheed Sulaimon into 2-of-10 shooting for nine points.

Davis now needs 26 points and one rebound to become the eighth player in Purdue history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists in his career.

Purdue is now 13-0 when Davis scores 10 or more points; 9-7 when he doesn't.

• With their 83-79 win, the Boilermakers notched their first ever win over Maryland; the Terrapins now lead the series 2-1.

• Purdue got its second straight win over a top 10 opponent, previously defeating #8 Michigan State on Feb. 9. The last time the Boilermakers beat two straight top 10 opponents was back in February 2011 (#10 Wisconsin, #2 Ohio State).

• With the win today, the Boilermakers now have 16 wins in Mackey arena, tied for the most ever in school history (2010-11, 2007-08, 2006-07). Purdue can set the record with a win over Wisconsin on March 6.

• Dakota Mathias tied his career high with 17 points tonight (Nov. 11, 2015 vs. Vermont). Mathias also set career highs in field goals made (7) and field goals attempted (10).

• AJ. Hammons led the team in scoring today with 19 points. Hammons has now scored in double figures in 10 straight games, and the team is 11-1 when Hammons leads the team in scoring. It's the first time a Purdue player has scored in double-figures in 10 straight games since Ronnie Johnson from March to December 2013.

• The senior class totaled 32 points tonight. Purdue is now 18-1 when the senior class combines to score at least 21 points.

• Purdue outrebounded the Terrapins by a 41-22 edge. The Boilermakers have now outrebounded all but one team this season (Michigan). In the team's first meeting, the rebounding battle was even.

• Purdue's bench outscored Maryland's 30-10. The Boilermakers have now outscored the opponents bench in 27-of-29 games this season (Ohio State, Michigan State).

• Purdue improved to 10-1 when shooting better than 48.0 percent from the field (shot 51.7 percent today).

• The Boilermakers are 18-3 this season, and 193-32 under Painter, when shooting better than their opponent (51.7 to 45.9 percent edge tonight).

• Purdue improved to 8-7 on games played on the weekends. The Boilermakers are a perfect 14-0 on games played on weekdays.

• The Boilermakers improved to 14-3 in games where they shoot better than 35.0 percent from 3-point range (shot 41.7 percent today).
