Vilafamés
Vilafamés history stretches all the way back to the Neanderthal period and strolling around the quiet beautiful alleys is invigorating for both body and soul. Visit the castle ruins at the top of the mountain and enjoy the view, the church Iglesia de la Asunción or the art museum Museu d’Art Contemporani. Vilafamés is also a perfect place to just enjoy, eat good food and relax!
Ares del Maestre
Via serpentine roads you come to Ares del Maestre located at just over 1000 meters altitude around a small round mountain top. Even this village's history goes back a long time. Besides cozy streets there is a prison from the 1200s, a cave with cave paintings and absolutely stunning views over the mountainous landscape.
Morella
Morella is a beautiful old walled town situated on a hilltop dating from the 1200s. At the top of the mountain is a large defence fortress which has participated in many battles. During the Middle Ages the city walls that surround the city was built. At the city's many patisseries you can enjoy sweets from recipes that date back to the Middle Ages. You can also buy black truffles picked in the area around the city.
Hikings in Castellón
There are many hiking trails in Castellón, long and short, easy and tough. Put your walking shoes on and join us on a hike in the beautiful landscape. Hiking trails lead in the mountainous landscape of the Desierto de las Palmas or through almond and olive groves in the valley below Vilafamés.
Castillo de Montornés
Castillo de Montornés was built in the 1000’s by the Moors on Roman ruins. With its strategic location at 500 meters altitude, it has a fantastic view of both the valley of Miravet, the Mediterranean sea and nowadays the town of Benicassim.
Castello de Miravet
The castle Castello de Miravet is beautifully situated atop a mountain peak in the Natural park Desierto de las Palmas. It is of Moorish origin, but the surrounding area has been inhabited since prehistoric times.
Hiking around Vilafamés
This hike starts in Vilafamés and go to the spring la Font de la Trisiola and around the mountain Morral. The first part of the trail goes along the old city wall and then follows a small path up towards the spring. During the hike you have stunning views of Vilafamés and the valley.
Mola del Morico
This is a tough hiking that goes across three of the park’s many mountain peaks. During the hike you can, beside the beautiful views of the mountainous landscape and the Mediterranean sea, also see ruins and a small chapel.

Benicassim
In Benicassim is the hotel we normally use, Hotel Voramar. The 6 km long sandy beach is without high-rise hotel complex and is very well maintained and has a nice seafront promenade. Benicassim beach is popular among Spaniards.
Peñíscola
The 5 km long nice sandy beach of Peñíscola, La Playa Norte, is lined with cafés and restaurants. Stroll along the shore avenues, walk to the cape and visit the old town with the magnificent castle at the top.
Torre la Sal
For those who want a quiet beach without so much people and high seafront hotels will Torre la Sal be perfect.
Alcossebre
Fine horseshoe shaped beach without high-rise hotel complex. Simply a nice beach!
