Arduino Programming a Mini Computer

Arduino is an open-source electronic prototyping platform allowing to create interactive electronic objects. Something like a mini computer (contains CPU, Memory, I/O like any other computer!) which can be programmed with inputs and outputs.

uses a programming environment very similar to Processing, which indicates that the code is in Java language

LED repetitive blinking

very fast blinks
  • where increasing the first number would make LED bright for longer
  • and increasing the second number would create longer spaces between blinks

LED and LDR

I worked in a group with Ellen. Here LDR works as a sensor for which LED reacts.

with the basic code our LED didn't want to blink at all, but after tweaking it a bit

and we achieved an incredible result! LDR and LED started to react in a very sensitive manner (video link below)

I've enjoyed creating something more physical than just something on a screen. I do find it slightly difficult to connect it to Graphic Communication Design, but I suppose nowadays graphic design goes way beyond just the graphics. I'm happy I was able to experiment with something new.
