Pasture Valley Newsletter December 2015

Isaiah 40:5 “And the glory of the Lord will appear, and all humanity will see it together”

Praise our Lord for His birth. Blessed Christmas to you all! We wish you much joy during this time and a very happy New year!

CHILD SUPPORT CHRISTMAS FUNCTIONS

For all the children that are on Pasture Valley’s child support programme there was much excitement and anticipation for the year end function. Because there are over 280 children on this programme we decided to have 2 functions this year. One function was held in Hlatikulu on 1 December which incorporated Gogo Nde Centre children and the Zondle girls centre too. The day started off in prayer and worship followed by lots of indoor and outdoor games, a drawing, singing and dancing competition and a meal and ice-cream. On the 5th of December we had another Christmas function and catered for around 250 people (including our children). The children each received a T-shirt and a bag with toiletries and a toy or faceclothe and sweets. We are grateful to our sponsors who have sponsored these functions.

GRADUATION FOR PRESCHOOLERS

In Swaziland Preschool graduation is a big event. I was asked to be guest speaker at three of the graduations and was humbled at how much could be done with so little and dedication of the preschool teachers for their students. At Ekuthuleni Growing Faith preschool also had a wonderful graduation. We hope to continue to support the preschools and their teachers in 2016.

AT PASTURE VALLEY…

There is very seldom a quiet December at Pasture Valley. A team from the New Salem Christian Church in the USA came to visit to do outreach work. They visited the health centre, painted a church and a preschool and helped the children. Thank you to Patsy and your team for all the hard work
The children have also performed their Christmas play on 2 occasions which was this year directed by Claire and Brynie. It has a gumboot dance in it and some Zambian music. An interesting production!

The children came home with their school reports and did really well. Only 2 children failed in the Primary school. Many of the children came within the top 10 positions in their classes. We are still waiting for the Grade 7 and Form 3 and 5 results.

Many of the children celebrated their birthdays. Taiwan has returned home to get her documents so that she can do missionary work in Malawi and also go to the USA in July next year. The children have been blessed with a wonderful Christmas party where they received Christmas gifts. the joy on their faces was so wonderful to see! Thank you to all of you who have given towards the children for Christmas. They have truly experienced your love this Christmas!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Thankfulness for all the kindness and love shown to the children and for all our staff, volunteers and family.
  • Thankfulness that Thandi’s ear operation went well at Good Shepherd hospital.
  • Please pray that we will be able to recruit another 3 more housemothers in January with caring hearts and who love Jesus.
  • We will be taking all 44 children to Bulembu (north of Swaziland) on Christmas day to spend 3 nights there. Please pray for safe travels and protection.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

John 1: 14 “The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory and the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

We are so grateful that God sent His Son Jesus to live among us and to save us.

HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS AS YOU REMEMBER JESUS’S BIRTH.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR GRACE AND TRUTH.

MAY YOUR 2016 BE FILLED WITH LOVE, JOY AND PEACE.
