Mark's Story ABA Year 2 (Finance)
I think I was so lucky to have chosen HKU SPACE Community College to pursue my associate degree in Business Administration. Two years ago, when I decided to choose Business as a major in the College, many people stopped me saying that it is extremely difficult to get a good offer from universities because the competition is intense. Luckily, I insisted on my decision and the result today turns out to be quite the opposite. Until today, I have received four admission offers from top universities in Hong Kong and more importantly, I can see my growth in the business area. There are three elements in HKU SPACE that contribute to my success today.
( 1 ) Great Lecturers
First, the lecturers are always willing to help. For example, they provided several mock interviews to us to help us prepare for the university interviews. We can also consult them with our personal statements and career development. With the help of several professors in HKU SPACE, my team won the champion of the ACCA Business Competition 2015, which definitely enhanced my experience in my resume.
( 2 ) Ample College Assistance
Second, the Student Development and Counselling Services (SDCS) in the College is extremely helpful in allowing me to understand more about the university admission and interviews. For example, SDCS regularly organizes talks about interview skills and university admission. I can also check out the record on university admission and interview questions for the past years in the SDCS counter.
( 3 ) Exchanges and Internships
Thirdly, a wide variety of activities in the College allows me to meet more friends and widen my horizon. I joined two exchanges to Beijing and Taiwan in last summer, in which I learnt more about the culture of the two places. An internship organized by the College with Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong also strengthen my business related skills.
