Pasture Valley Newsletter March 2016

3 John 4: “I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are walking in the truth”.

YESHUA HOUSE IS OPEN AND FILLING UP

Two more sisters and two new brothers have joined the Pasture Valley family. Yeshua home was dedicated to Jesus with a beautiful ceremony on the 14th of February with Jared Martin to lead us in prayer and a message for the day. The home still needs electricity connection and a washing line put up, but this has not stopped the flow of requests from Social welfare to take in children in great need for a place to live and be cared for.

A child was dropped off last week with literally only the clothes he had on. He had been beaten and the scars on his back showed the abuse he had.

Little Becki (not her real name) lost both her parents and since she was orphaned has been passed from one home to another with each aunt and uncle claiming to not be her relatives and did not want her. One uncle threatened that he would sell her because he did not have any money himself. She went to school with an empty stomach most days and the teachers would help her with a meal. She was found at a feeding point and taken to the chief to be cared for until we arrived.

THE FAMILY IS ALSO GROWING AT EKUTHULENI GIRLS' CARE CENTRE

Two more girls have joined the Ekuthuleni Girls care centre. Both girls have been through a terrible time and suffered from abuse for a long time. The police had to be called in on both cases and intervene and remove them from their families. We can only pray and hope that God will heal their wounds.

Last week when I collected one of the girls from her homestead, she was so excited that she tapped me on my shoulder and told me “I am so happy!!” She shared a guava from her tree at her home with us in the car and did not stop asking questions in the vehicle. The girls at the care centre welcomed her warmly and she could not stop smiling when she saw her new home, bed and her new friends and family.

REQUEST TO TAKE IN ANOTHER 4 MORE CHILDREN THIS WEEK

Please pray with us as we consider taking in another 4 more children. Three of the children were abandoned at a hospital while another 5 year old child was held over a hotplate and burnt by his stepmother. The article was published in the local newspapers.

THE KRAUSE FAMILY JOINS PASTURE VALLEY

Jurgens, Eleanor and their son Nicholas have recently moved to Pasture Valley to help us care for the ever expanding family at the children’s home. They have been a great witness to us as they placed their trust in God and sold their home in South Africa to be able to come and serve at Pasture Valley

TRAINING AT PASTURE VALLEY

A group of 23 young people arrived at Pasture Valley for discipleship and community training through Adventures in Missions (AIM) in February. They were given a welcome meal. At the end of the two weeks, they invited the staff of Pasture Valley for a delicious meal too. We were blessed by their visit and encouraged to see the youth of Swaziland willing to serve and glorifying God.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Gratefulness for some lovely rain that has fallen over the past week
  • For the adjustment of the new aunties and housemothers at Pasture Valley
  • For the protection of all the children
  • For good health for Bongiwe who is expecting a baby
  • For Siyabonga who is writing his engineering exams this coming week

  • For the filming team currently visiting Pasture Valley and the work they are doing
  • For the adjustment of all the new children to Pasture Valley
