HOUSING WORKS DESIGN ON A DIME, MIAMI 2016

Renowned fundraising benefit raised over $300,000 for Housing Works' national AIDS-FREE U.S. 2025 campaign and honored Grammy Award winning artist Lenny Kravitz along with designer Ken Faulk
The benefit kicked off with a red-carpet Chairman’s Preview on Friday evening, hosted by “The Insider” anchor Louis Aguirre. Aguirre welcomed the crowd by saying, “God wants everyone to take out their credit cards and do some serious shopping! This is shopping without guilt.”
Event Social Chair photographer Douglas Friedman then presented designer and honoree Ken Fulk with the “Giving by Design” award, celebrating his innovative designs and commitment to the LGBTQ community. After accepting his award, Fulk said, “25 years ago I saw a really handsome man, and I learned that handsome man, who became my boyfriend, had HIV. We’ve had an extraordinary life together, but not all are fortunate. I live the life of my dreams and anything I can do to give back, I gladly will.”
Guests enjoyed custom cocktails by Hendrick’s Gin and Milagro Tequila and rose by Chateau D’Esclans/ Whispering Angel, as they were given a ‘first look’ at the designer room vignettes before the opening sale the next day. Notable guests included: Elsa Benitez, Christina Getty, Jennifer Valoppi, Sam Champion, Criselda Breene, Sam Robin, and Rubem Robierb
