Lori's 7 Day Photo Challenge All in one Fun post!

Several of my Photography Friends, (you know who you are), have invited me to participate in the 7 Day Photo Challenge on Facebook. I wanted to try out this new way of sharing called Slate and I thought this might be the perfect way to share my photos & test the new product, all in one big swoop! So here goes....

My Personal Artistic Favorites of 2015 ~ Artistically Processed (Which means I goofed off and had fun!)
Ghosts ~ Boardman Tree Farm

Ghosts is my favorite image from 2015. We went to the Boardman Tree Farm, a place photographers love and many go. I knew that it would be difficult to come up with an image that had not been shot before so I tried something completely new. Ghosts is the result of a fun experiment with double exposure in camera. The first image was shot still and the second image was panned vertically. I love the result. It's good to try new things every now & then!

A beautiful Spring Day in The Elkhorn Mountains of Eastern Oregon

This next image was taken near Service Creek which is not far from the Painted Hills in Central Oregon. I had traveled there with a fun group of women photographers. In a way, this image makes me laugh. My timing was so perfect. I think this particular spot must only be green for about 15 minutes a year. It is usually toasted brown. We experienced several days of rain which made it so green. We arrived just as the sun broke out of the clouds and lit the valley, if only for a few moments. I could not have planned it any more perfectly than it was. It was meant to be!

Service Creek Oregon

This next photo is from a night time photo adventure that Helen & I took last fall. We went up to Anthony Lakes and did some light painting. This is a long exposure. I walked through the photo and highlighted objects in the scene with a flashlight. You can't see me because I did not stand still long enough for the camera to capture my image. It was a super fun night with lots of laughs and great photos. A behind the scenes tidbit... I met another truck coming up the mountain in the middle of the night and I had to back up a long way in total darkness to a wide spot so the other truck could pass. Whew! Obviously, Helen & I survived and I did not back off the cliff, nor did the bear eat us! We didn't see Sasquatch either. I guess in those terms, it was a boring night! :-D

What happens in the tent, stays in the tent!

Last But Not Least ~ I ended 2015 with a bang. I anticipated the Full Moonset on Christmas Morning. We left the house with coffee in hand at 6 in the morning. When I got to my spot on the hill above Baker City, I was treated to the most magical thing I have ever seen. It was almost hard to believe it was real. The Full Moon hung just above Elkhorn Peak, a fine foggy mist drifted among the quiet little city with it's Christmas lights all aglow. It was truly a magical sight. How could I title this image anything but The Magic of Christmas Morn?

So that's it... That is a piece of what I was up to in 2015. If you want to see more or stay in touch... here are a few links.
