Landscape Photography Workshops see-create-develop

The Southwest of England offers a vast array of stunning landscapes to explore. Dramatic coves, sinuous estuaries, sublime high moorland, roaring whitewater rapids, and the pastoral charm of rolling hills & the ancient green lanes.

Bespoke One-to-One Landscape Photography Workshops are available throughout the year on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays & Weekends.

A One-to-One Full day (of 8.5 hrs to include breaking for lunch & a review of your images) is £160 and a One-to-One Half day (4hrs) is £80.

There are a selection of themed 8 hour Group Workshops (1 to 3 ratio - to ensure individuals get the tuition and guidance they deserve) on specific dates, if you would rather attend a group session.

Group Workshop Dates (late Winter to Spring 2016):

  • Saturday 20th February 2016 - Moorland Whitewater and Rapids. A chance to explore some rugged & wild sections of Dartmoor's myriad fast rivers and brooks as they race through boulder-fields and over cascading waterfalls.
  • Sunday 20th March 2016 - Coastal Explorations. Rugged coastal bays and estuaries of the South Devon AONB, offering grand evocative vistas and the chance to make initimate abstract 'inner-landscape' studies.
  • Saturday 16th April 2016 - Moorland Woods, Tors and Rivers. Spring-time should be adding a freshness to the native oak, rowan, hawthorn & birch woodlands, carpeted with unfolding ferns and lush moss pillows. The Tors offer far reaching vistas over the fresh greens of the wooded vales and rugged moorland hills. The racing rivers and brooks enlivened by the lush new growth of wild plants on the banks.
  • Sunday 15th May - Coastal Explorations. Rugged coastal bays and estuaries of the South Devon AONB, offering grand evocative vistas and the chance to make initimate abstract 'inner-landscape' studies. With luck the coastal wild flowers such as thrift and birds foot trefoil should be adding colour to the cliffs.

The Group Workshop prices are £90 per person for an 8 hour workshop.

More Group Workshop dates will be added to the website. Bespoke Group Workshops can be organised as well, for you and friends/ colleagues by arrangement at any location within South West England.

The Upper Colly Brook Falls

The 368 square miles of Dartmoor with its beguiling rugged plutonic tors; the steep wooded vales of oak, birch, beech & rowans; the myriad whitewater rapids & waterfalls are a delight for the senses.

The coastlines of South Devon, North Devon and Cornwall offer an array of sublime grand vistas, quaint harbours, estuaries and inner-landscape abstracts to experience.

The workshops cover technical skills including: composition; use of filters (Graduated Neutral Density, Neutral Density, Polarizers); long -exposures; ICM; panoramics; bracketting for exposure blending/ HDR.

The creative skills development focuses on the evolution from the spark of an idea - to visualisation of what a photograph make look like - to producing expressive images 'about' rather than just 'of' the landscape and the elements within it.

The intention of my workshops are to give you confidence in your camera-craft skills to allow you to make expressive photographs, both on the course and in the future when you are in the great outdoors with your camera. After the course you will recieve a set of exclusive PDF guides that you can refer back to, ideal to store on your smartphone or tablet as 'field guides' when you are out & about.
