Safety 1st - First Issue Tomorrow's leaders today!

This newsletter is where we will be sharing the happenings of the patrol as well as other interesting things going on around our school. Led by Sgt. Zakiyah Smith all of our articles will be written and edited by the members of the patrol.

In this issue we will be highlighting our Patrol Captain Aspyn Warner and the October Safety of the Month Kayla Carson

As Captain, Aspyn has command of 30 of her fellow peers that make up the Busansky Safety Patrol Team. Through an application process she was selected by last year's Captain & Lieutenants as the strongest candidate to fill the position and she has taken the reigns and hit the ground running showing she is more than capable.

A member of Team Red, Kayla handles our morning & afternoon bus duties and was selected by her captain and lieutenants to be the October Safety of the Month. She is a valuable asset to Mrs. Martin who runs afternoon bus duty and was quoted as saying "Kayla is fabulous and I could not do bus duty without her".

Captain

I wanted to thank Aspyn for being such a great captain. I asked Emily and Mariah to interview Aspyn and they got a couple questions out of her. The first question is, "Do you like your job and responsibilities that you were given?" Aspyn's answer was, "Yes, I get to help people out." The second question was,” "Would you change anything about the school?" She replied, "No I like everything at school." The third question was, "Are you proud of Kayla?" She answered, "Yes I am proud of her.” The final question I asked her was, "What is it like to be a captain?” She said, "It feels great and it is an honor to be chosen for this position.” I think that Aspyn is such a great captain and I wish her luck.

Safety of the Month

I took some time to talk to our safety of the month Kayla Carson. I asked her a few questions and this is how she answered the questions. The first question I asked was, "Why did you want to be a safety?” Kayla said, "To help students with their behavior and also to be a good positive role model.” The second question was, "How does it feel to be safety of the month? “ She replied,” "It feels great, I get to be recognized for how well I do in the safety patrol.” The third question was,” "What is the responsibility that goes with your position?” She said, "My responsibilities are to make sure everyone gets to their bus on time and also to make sure no one gets hurt.” The last question that I asked was, "What is something you would like to change about the school and why?” For the final question, she replied,” I wish I could change all the bullying because we don’t want anyone to get hurt." Kayla is dedicated to her job on the safety patrol. Now I know why she earned the award and she deserves it. Congratulations Kayla! We are proud of you.
