Mazzaro's Italian Restaurant is a Food Destination in St. Petersburg, Florida PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBERT NEFF

Mazzaro's Italian Market in St. Petersburg, Florida has become a top tourist destination. When friends and families visit, this is the first stop from the airport or getting to the hotel! Snowbirds stop here before they go to the condo. Items are baked in the morning and when they are gone, they is no more!

In the back of the market is the Barista Counter, conveniently located between the dessert and bread counter, pasta room and bakery.

Cappuccino
Splitting a dessert.
A seat at the coffee bar is the hottest seat in town! When you go grab a seat and tilt it forward as shown. This tells everyone except for first timers the seat is unavailable. Now, head over to pick up your ticket at the deli or dessert counter and order. Go back to your chair and order a cappuccino. Watch the bakers bake. You may hear your order called. If not, tilt your chair and go check on your order. When done, you can pay for your dessert or food and drink here. If you could not finish, get a bag and a paid sticker.

My Favorite Pastry is... Maple or Almond Nut Ring

The Rings go fast. During Christmas Week there were 190 people lined up at 9am to shop. At 9:15, four trays of Maple Nut Rings were gone!
I really like the Maple Nut Rings!
Best part is the crumbs. You can eat it out of the bag. I recommend shaking the bag a couple times while you are eating. When the ring is all gone, tilt back your head, angle the bag so crumbs in the bag slide down into your mouth.

Entire Aisle of Olive Oil and Balsamics

I highly recommend the Balsamic glazes to add to olive oil or over fruit.
