NORCAN in Ontario Thoughts and learning day 1
The first day all participants are gathered in Toronto....It has been a good day of reconnecting,reminding and building new relationships.
Researchers, teachers, school leaders and students working together
Topics that squared with me this first day was:
- Confidence in math is still a strong topic for our partnership
- Understanding math is not about finding the right answer
- Understanding math helps students to ask better questions
- Math is not just about numbers
- Serveral of the teacher participants didn´t start enjoying math until they started teaching it...connection to peer tutoring?
- To teach students or learning with students?
- Early success might be a horrible teacher...
