Squash Explodes During First Season on Sacred Heart's New Courts (scroll down to learn more)
Six new squash courts in our new Athletic Center make all this possible:
• 80 students now play squash; up from 25 last year.
• Four teams—up from two teams last year—now represent Sacred Heart at the US Squash Team Nationals.
• In the Upper School, we field Varsity and JV teams; in the Middle School, we field two interscholastic teams.
World-class specialists coach our players.
Coach Celia Allamargot has played professionally in 25 countries and is formerly ranked 60th in the world for her sport. She was recently named as a coach for the junior women's United States National Team.
For 18 years, students traveled off-site to train and compete. Now, players:
• Practice on-campus from 2:45-6 p.m. daily,
• Build cardio stamina in our state-of-the-art fitness center,
• Develop core strength in the new yoga studio, and
• Compete on campus, while the home crowd cheers.
“Students cheering on our own home courts makes a huge difference,” says Coach Allamargot.

Enthusiasm and effort paid off when Sacred Heart students swept the season opener, hosted here for the first time.
Squash is now integrated into the PE curriculum and offered after school for grades 1-8, including instructional groups in both the Middle and Upper schools.
