It's Not All About The Northern Lights Whitehorse Photography Club

February 2016 Assignment

The aurora borealis is beautiful and awe-inspiring. But what looks so grand streaked across the sky may not translate so well into a photograph.

Create up to six photographs using the northern lights as a compositional element, not the focus. Place the aurora into context by including the environment. Season to taste with additional compositional elements.

The human element...

...a silhouette...

...a frame of trees.

Members' photographs will be presented at our next meeting on Tuesday, February 16th, 7PM at the Canada Games Centre.
