Want to play some D&D? Good. So do we.

You must gather your party before venturing forth...

But sometimes it's hard to gather a party.

Whether it's difficult to schedule time with your tabletop friends, or you just don't know enough people to play with, Arelith has you covered. We're more than just a video game, we're a popular and established role-playing community.

Arelith is a Neverwinter Nights (NWN) Persistent World, meaning that it runs 24/7 with or without you. Join adventurers from around the world in a game of Dungeons & Dragons that has been ongoing since 2003.

So, what is roleplaying?

It's more than just killing goblins and taking their gold. It's making your characters believable. It's the telling of a story by hundreds of authors simultaneously. It's unpredictable and improvised, and a hell of a lot of fun.

Immerse yourself in a world that is entirely in-character. Never again will you face the epic Jarl of the Giant Tribes, only to hear your friends talk about ordering a pizza in a public channel. Everybody stays in-character, and the ambience achieved is unmistakable.

Arelith is a Role-playing world of epic proportions.

Arelith is a huge open world sandbox, just waiting for you to experience it. It has been built and refined since 2003, constantly growing and changing according to player's actions (and inactions!) Villages have grown into towns, entire cities laid to waste. Ruins dot the landscape, homages to greatness that once was. Will it be again?

That's up to you.

Are you a hero?

The Mighty Milosh revels in triumph over his foes.

Or a villain?

A drow priestess summons a ghastly companion.

Whichever you decide, there will be those who plot against you. There will be those who take up arms at your side and become stalwart companions. Every character tells a story, and every story adds to the history of one of the longest running games of Dungeons & Dragons ever played out. Over 175,000 characters have told their stories already. What will yours be?

Dark necromantic rituals bring back the dead.

Like to explore?

Arelith is huge.

You can play for years and still not see everything there is to see. It also changes constantly, adapting to the storyline of the island, and to events that unfold. There is danger around every corner, and many rewards for those who wish to explore it's vast landscape.

Arelith is filled with beautiful, scenic vistas to inspire your role-play. From dramatic oceanside cliffs, and frigid snowy mountains, to vast and dangerous deserts. Arelith has so many places to discover and influence, you just might be playing here for years to come without seeing it all.

Even I don't know where this is...

Nexus Falls, in mysterious Minmir.

Face your fears.

Horrific beasts await to utterly destroy you, and remind you why nightmares in this realm exist. Arelith has hundreds of different creatures to fight. From black bears in the forests, to Demon Lords of the Abyss. Strategy and bravery will be required to best these foes, or you'll find yourself in the Fugue plane, clinging to the thread of your soul.

A dead adventurer seeks out a portal to return to the mortal world.

Become a Legend.

Stories are still told of heroes and villains from years ago. Monuments are erected and books written that extoll the virtues of heroes long past. Humble men become kings, and heroic knights fall to blasphemy, while bards across the land recall these tales...

Alright, let's go! How do I play?

First, you'll need to get a copy of the base game, Neverwinter Nights. It's pretty cheap, and you can usually find it for $10 or less here:

Once you buy your copy, you'll need to request a multiplayer cd-key.

Maybe you just want to read more about the systems of Arelith, and some more background information. Check out our "Getting Started" page on our wiki:

Will you rise to the occasion?
