I love how natural light enhances a room . Here is a farmhouse table that my husband made for me. Sort of a house warming gift to me from him. He used 4 old wooden, chippy painted table legs. Added a shelf underneath for baskets. I also love a great deal and found 5 of these awesome white painted windsor chairs at a St. Vincent De Paul store for 25 bucks each. The curtains were made from drop cloths by me. We found a sale on drop cloths through Harbor Freight for 6 bucks a piece for a 6x12 ft. They wash up beautifully too.
Here is a favorite spot inside the mill, our kitchen. I just love how light and bright it is. Every inch of this home was done on a shoestring budget. Our favorite place to shop for just about anything for our home was at Habitat for Humanity, a Restore. There you can find items from homes that were being demolished or remodeled and donated to this store. Our kitchen island cupboard and the other cupboard bottoms that are under the counter tops were from there also. The yellow cupboards came from a house that was being demolished. My husband was able, with permission, to go into the home and tear out what ever he wanted. The cupboards were built ins that hubby restored into my favorite furniture pieces. The double ovens and stove sit into what once was a grain bin. The double oven was a craigs list find and the stove was purchased dirt cheap from a store going out of business. The wooden butcher block counter tops were purchased at Menards. We refinished them and I love how they add warmth to our kitchen. The shelf above the range is a couple of old corbels that we had laying around for quite some time and used to make a shelf. Flooring is a hardwood oak. Purchased for 1.99 sf at Menards. This was a discontinued flooring.

This is a before photo of the mudroom which is located under the stairway leading up to the second floor. My husband added a nice storage area underneath the staircase and had a few doors laying around that worked great for this project of his. Great place for storing mittens and such.

Here is our finished bathroom. So much charm going on in here! Love long soaks in this tub. It is still has a few repairs to be done. The spout is being worked on, and the wood trim needs a bit more refining. We were given this tub from a neighbor. The flooring was purchased from a Restore. It has such a beautiful patina. The white corner cupboard is also a find from the Restore for $45. Did not need to do anything to it! Double french doors lead into the bathroom.
Hope you enjoyed my short tour of our renovations of the mill. We still have a ways to go but are minor in comparison to what we started with. We moved into our mill a week before Thanksgiving of last year so we were able to enjoy the holidays in our new home. I can't wait to show you more as I finish each area in here. Till next time......
