SHMS wrestling

The Wrestling Team

By: Matthew Bradley

Coach O'Rourke is excited about this year's wrestling season. The team of ten is eager for competition.

Prepped And Ready

So far this season, the team has been putting forth great effort, showing enthusiasm, and bringing energy to the practices every day. The team is very hungry for competition.

Goals And Expectations

Coach O'Rourke would like to see every wrestler win a match. After they have accomplished a match, his next goal for them is to win two matches, and then three, and so on. Also, he expects the team to have an understanding about the basic wrestling moves and concepts he has taught them, for it will prepare them for their Junior Varsity and Varsity wrestling.

Who Will Rise To The Top?

While the whole team is working hard, and anything can happen, several wrestlers show special promise: 8th graders Axel Andrews, David Colon, and Sammy Esaleh, and 7th graders Calvin Evans and Harith Alkhalah.

In conclusion, the team has done a great job with its practices and is ready to show some Panther Pride and win some matches.
